Job summary

Miller Valentine is seeking a Field Construction Supervisor to oversee on-site operations, coordinating owners, architects, and engineers to complete projects on time and within budget. You will develop schedules, manage safety programs, and lead MVCC field staff across trades, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and quality standards.

The role requires 4–7 years of relevant experience, a 4-year degree in Engineering/Construction/Architecture, and strong communication abilities.

Qualifications

• ~4-7 years of internal or external experience in a similar role or education equivalent.
• 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction, or Architecture from an accredited College or University.
• Demonstrates proficiency in complex systems and market sectors; mentors and trains others.
• Thorough knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and materials.
• Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.
• Ability to apply Lean and other advanced techniques to benefit the project.
• Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills; effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with owners/architects/engineers for day-to-day construction activities.
• Develop and implement project work schedules identifying critical path and expediting materials.
• Lead and develop MVCC field staff; provide input on performance appraisals.
• Develop and manage site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance.
• Manage scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and staffing levels.
• Coordinate across trades to optimize project operations and resolve issues.
• Train and advise colleagues; communicate with diverse audiences effectively.
• Oversee permitting, insurance, and liaison with inspection agencies.
• Act as Storm Water Compliance Coordinator per MVCC program.
• Manage general conditions, general requirements, and budget.
