Job summary

Holt Brothers Construction in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Construction Intern to support the project team by observing and assisting with day-to-day field and office activities. This internship introduces students or early-career candidates to the construction industry, providing exposure to safety practices, field documentation, and project coordination under supervision.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Strong interest in learning about the construction industry, strong attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
• Willingness to work on an active construction site in varying weather conditions
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and other software programs

Responsibilities

• Field Exposure & Quality Control: Observe field layout activities and learn dimensional control.
• Shadow quality control inspections of installed work and document deficiencies.
• Assist with punch list tracking from identification to resolution.
• Observe material verification and quantity tracking processes.
• Documentation & Reporting: Assist with daily field reports, photo logs, and site documentation.
• Maintain material and equipment tracking logs and support procurement/logistics on site.
• Shadow RFI and submittal tracking and learn material approvals flow.
• Support as-built documentation and drawing markups under supervision.
• Safety: Participate in daily safety huddles and toolbox talks; learn to identify and report hazards.
• Communication & Coordination: Attend project meetings and help with meeting minutes.
• Shadow coordination between field, subcontractors, and office staff.
• Observe site logistics planning and adjustments in real time.
