Job summary

holtbrothersinc is seeking a Construction Intern to support the project team by observing and assisting with day-to-day field and office activities. This role is designed to introduce students or early-career candidates to the construction industry, providing exposure to safety practices, field documentation, and project coordination under the guidance of the Superintendent and project engineering team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in learning about the construction industry, strong attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
• Willingness to work on an active construction site in varying weather conditions.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and other software programs.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist with field layout activities and learn how dimensional control is verified against drawings and specifications.
• Shadow quality control inspections of installed work and document deficiencies.
• Help track punch list items from identification to resolution.
• Observe material verification and quantity tracking processes to understand how deliveries are checked against project needs.
• Assist with daily field reports, photo logs, and general site documentation.
• Support RFI and submittal tracking and learn how field questions and material approvals move through the process.
• Participate in safety huddles and toolbox talks and report hazards.
• Attend project meetings and take meeting minutes to understand information flow.
• Coordinate site logistics between the field team, subcontractors, and office staff.
