Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking an on-site observer/inspector to monitor construction projects from start to finish, perform material testing, and document progress. The role requires reading plans and specifications, reporting deviations, and maintaining thorough records.

Travel for site visits will be required as part of field oversight. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in construction, DOT-related certification preferred or willing to obtain it, and strong

Qualifications

• 2+ years construction-related experience preferred.
• MoDOT Technician Certification is a plus or must be willing to obtain it.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs and contract documents.
• Ability to travel and stay out of town as required for inspections.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect construction projects from start to finish; document daily progress and materials.
• Read and interpret plans, specs and contract docs; report deviations.
• Conduct laboratory and field tests and prepare reports on soils, aggregates, asphalt, and other materials.
• Maintain clear written and oral communication; answer inquiries as required.
• Attend and conduct project meetings for progress updates and insights.
• Measure distances and perform calculations to document work completed.
