Qualifications

• MDOT SHA/MDTA or other DOT construction inspection experience preferred.
• Certifications in relevant fields or ability to obtain certification (MDOT SHA Yellow Card, MARTCP).
• NICET certification is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel; basic computer/mobile device skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections and observations of contractor work on highway/bridge projects.
• Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities for payments.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications and standards.
• Conduct material sampling and testing per project standards.
• Ensure contractor work/materials meet specified standards.
• Document daily progress, conformance, staffing, equipment and quantities.
