City of Ogden is seeking a Construction Inspector in the Public Services Department, Engineering Division. The role performs technical inspection and plans examining to enforce right-of-way codes and Ogden City Engineering Standards under supervision.

Responsibilities include inspecting public works structures, recording data, conducting plan reviews, and coordinating with other departments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

Qualifications

• At least two years of surveying or construction experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; education/experience may qualify.
• Higher levels require additional experience and/or NICET certifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate data collecting survey equipment.
• Determine traffic control measures needed and implement.
• Inspect work quality and materials for compliance with codes and standards.
• Review plans and specifications for code compliance.
• Coordinate inspection and plans examining with other City departments.
