Job summary

City of Frisco seeks a Construction Inspector to perform site inspections and manage sidewalk, paving, and utility projects for Public Works. You will attend preconstruction and final inspections, support contractors, and prepare technical inspection reports.

Responsibilities include reviewing sewer videos, field densities, and drawings, addressing inquiries from the public and developers, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and city standards.

Qualifications

• Two years street and wet utility construction, planning or engineering design experience.
• TEEX training in Work Zone Safety, Water, Sewer, Lime, Cement, and Construction Inspection.
• Must possess valid State of Texas Driver's License.
• May be required to obtain State of Texas Class A CDL within six months of employment date.

Responsibilities

• Provides construction site inspections and project management for sidewalk repairs, street paving, subgrade, wet utilities, franchise utilities and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Attends preconstruction, preliminary and final inspection meetings and provides technical support related to assigned job functions and projects to contractors.
• Provides project status updates and reviews to the Superintendent and other staff as necessary.
• Prepares narrative and written technical reports related to construction site inspections and contract specifications for Public Works.
• Reviews sanitary sewer videos, field densities, gradations, and stabilization depths for City standards and plots final results on drawings.
• Responds to and resolves customer, contractor, developer and general public complaints, concerns and questions related to plan review and assigned construction inspection projects.
• Reviews contractor pay applications for accuracy.
• Performs on-going condition assessments of City infrastructure to help prioritize Public Works maintenance and repair projects for budgeting needs.
