French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks a Construction Inspector to support land development and municipal infrastructure projects in Hackettstown, NJ. You will monitor field activities, document progress, and help ensure work meets approved plans, specifications, permits, and standards.

The candidate should have 3+ years of construction inspection experience, strong communication, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction inspection or observation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with field reporting or construction management software.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect construction activities for land development and municipal infrastructure projects, including site grading, roadway improvements, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, and stormwater management facilities.
• Monitor contractor work to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, permits, local regulations, and applicable engineering standards.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports documenting construction activities, site conditions, installed quantities, workforce/equipment on site, and overall project progress.
• Track and verify installed quantities to support payment applications, cost tracking, and project documentation.
• Capture and maintain photographic documentation of construction progress, milestones, and field conditions.
• Serve as a field liaison between contractors, municipal clients, utility agencies, and the design team to support communication and resolve field issues.
