CDM Smith is seeking a field-oriented inspector responsible for on-site inspections of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects to verify compliance with approved design specifications and safety standards. You will document deficiencies, review submittals, and monitor progress with engineers and project teams.

The role requires at least 5 years of construction experience, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to travel domestically (possible overseas).

Formación

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 5 years of relevant construction experience.
• Domestic travel is required; overseas travel is possible.

Responsabilidades

• Conducts on-site inspections of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects to verify compliance with design specs and standards.
• Documents inspection results including deficiencies, deterioration, and required corrective actions.
• Reviews submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material certifications with engineers and project teams.
• Monitors construction progress and maintains daily reports, deficiency notices, and technical recommendations.
• Inspects construction materials and testing processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Oversees field construction services, ensuring safety, quality control, and permitting adherence.
• Conducts site investigations and reviews relevant data (maps, reports, test results, drawings).
• Participates in pre-construction meetings, design reviews, safety meetings, and project closeout activities.
• Ensures compliance with guidelines and regulations and delivers technical files as required.
• Develops and mentors junior staff; liaises between contractors, engineering staff, and clients.
• Performs other duties as required.
