Job summary

Crusoe is seeking an Associate Construction Engineer to join our Project Execution team, supporting field execution of large-scale power generation projects for AI data center infrastructure. This role requires active site presence, with resident assignment during construction and commissioning, and travel during engineering phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of field engineering, construction management, or inspection experience on power generation, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.
• Cross-disciplinary field knowledge across mechanical and/or electrical systems in industrial/power generation environments.
• Foundational knowledge of concrete construction, including foundations, rebar, and formwork.
• Foundational knowledge of structural steel erection, sequencing, connections, and field inspection.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical power systems installation, including conduit, cable tray, pulling, terminations, and grounding.
• Foundational knowledge of piping systems construction, including supports, welding inspection, testing, and cleanliness.
• Foundational knowledge of power generation equipment such as gas turbines, engines, generators, switchgear, and auxiliaries.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70, ASME B31.1/31.3/31.8, NEC, ANSI/IEEE and practical field application.
• Experience supporting review of contractor submittals, RFIs, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Ability to read and interpret project schedules.
• Strong organizational skills for field documentation, inspection records, and punch lists.
• Ability to travel to remote project sites weekly or reside on site during peak phases.
• Safety-sensitive role; pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Support field engineering and site coordination on active power generation construction sites.
• Review contractor/facility submittals, RFIs, and field directives with project team.
• Assist with construction execution plan reviews like lift, flush, hydro, purge, and pre-commissioning plans.
• Track progress against project schedule and milestones; maintain logs and punch lists.
• Conduct field inspections and document findings; escalate non-conformances.
• Assist with turnover packages and mechanical completion.
• Support commissioning and startup activities, including tests and verifications.
• Maintain field documentation and as-built redlines for record drawing sets.
• Coordinate permits and site safety program with HSE.
• Contribute to development of engineering, construction, and commissioning standards.
