Job summary

Shimmick seeks an experienced Construction Engineer based in Glendale, CA to support the North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit Project. The role involves performing engineering tasks, preparing drawings, and assisting with field inspections and construction administration to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

You will work under supervision of a project manager, coordinate with teams, and help with project reporting and budgets. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field; 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in heavy civil projects (roadway/bridge/rail/transit).
• Ability to read plans, specs and technical documents; OSHA knowledge and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques.
• Prepare calculations, drawings and visual aids.
• Assist with field inspections and construction administration.
• Document deficiencies and deviations from plans; coordinate with project managers.
• Contribute to reports and project records; support marketing and funding efforts.
