Job summary

Shimmick Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to support planning and execution of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges and utilities. You will work with project managers, superintendents and design teams to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.

This on-site role is in Northern California and requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management plus heavy civil construction experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field plus 6 years heavy civil construction experience or equivalent.
• Preferred: 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience and Northern California project experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day project activities and field operations.
• Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and track RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews.
• Support cost control, scheduling, and quality assurance efforts.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance on-site.
• Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders.
