Job summary

Osceola County Government is seeking a skilled Inspector to perform routine and complex construction inspection tasks in alignment with FDOT specifications and county codes. You will inspect public and private works, maintain comprehensive records, and support development review processes with accuracy and integrity.

The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, along with two years in civil construction or surveying.

Qualifications

  • Education requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years experience in civil construction, construction inspection, and/or land surveying.
  • Municipal or government experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect public and private construction to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Assist with review and approval of right of way permits.
  • Inspect construction in public rights of way and easements.
  • Maintain inspection records and prepare reports.
  • Respond to public inquiries and document issues in field notes.
  • Attend preconstruction meetings to explain inspection standards.
  • Perform after-hours inspections as required.
  • Operates photography equipment to document field issues.
