Job summary

Humphreys & Partners Architects in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks a Construction Administrator to support the Western Region job sites (CA, AZ, NV, CO). This field-focused role travels at least 25% to project sites and ensures construction aligns with contract documents and design intent.

You will coordinate with owners and contractors, review payments, and maintain project records while guiding projects from construction through completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field.
• 4–10 years of experience.
• Thorough understanding of architectural/construction terminology and building codes and standards.
• Ability to communicate, negotiate, and resolve disputes.
• Keen observational skills.
• Ability to document observations, non-conforming items and field communication.
• Ability to organize and manage project records.
• Ability to work and travel independently.
• Travel to construction sites across the U.S. as required per project (Valid U.S. Driver’s License required).
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
• Excellent clear concise written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to walk job sites and construction stairs.
• Positive attitude and driven to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Interpret contract documents and track progress of work.
• Observe construction for conformity to documents and specs.
• Establish open lines of communication between owner, contractor, and staff.
• Review payment requests and change orders for validity.
• Prepare field reports and close non-conforming observations with Contractor and Owner.
• Coordinate travel to project sites and maintain client relationships.
• Review submittals and RFIs based on Contract Documents.
