Job summary

Humphreys & Partners Architects is seeking a Construction Administrator to support our Western Region (CA, AZ, NV, CO) job sites. Based in Irvine, CA, this role requires 25% travel to project sites and ensures construction aligns with contract documents and design intent.

The successful candidate will interpret Contract Documents, coordinate with owners and contractors, and review changes and payments. A architecture-related degree with 4–10 years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4-10 years of experience in construction/architecture roles.
• Thorough understanding of architectural/construction terminology and building codes and standards.
• Ability to communicate, negotiate, and resolve disputes.
• Travel to construction sites across the U.S. as required per project.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction Contract Documents, track progress, and reconcile conflicting interests of owners and contractors.
• Observe construction for conformity to Contract Documents and specifications.
• Establish open lines of communication between owner, contractor, and project staff.
• Review contractor’s payment requests and change orders for validity.
• Prepare field reports and coordinate with Contractor and Owner to close non-conforming items.
• Coordinate monthly travel schedule to assigned job sites.
• Maintain favorable working relationships with clients and contractors.
• Consult with the architectural project team and consultants on construction-related issues.
