Aletheia House seeks a Community Health Worker to distribute overdose reversal meds, deliver recognition and response training, and connect individuals to services in Marshall, DeKalb, and Blount Counties. This field-based role emphasizes strong local ties and traveling across rural communities.

The position requires a public health/related degree, CHW experience or training, and willingness to travel with a reliable vehicle to multiple counties and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, or a related field.
• Local residency or strong ties to Marshall, DeKalb and Blount Counties with community trust.
• CHW certification or equivalent lived/professional experience preferred.
• Strong local community relationships and trust of residents.
• Ability to complete Aletheia House training on onboarding.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within assigned counties.

Responsibilities

• Distribute FDA-approved OORMs (naloxone and nalmefene) to bystanders, community sectors, and rural first responders within Marshall, DeKalb and Blount Counties.
• Deliver overdose-recognition, response, and OORM-administration training to healthcare providers, pharmacies, EMS, schools and community sectors.
• Train local Training-of-Trainers cohorts to extend the training curriculum within the community.
• Support referral and linkage follow-up for individuals identified through prevention or overdose response activities, in coordination with the Program Coordinator/Data Lead.
• Maintain local relationships with the cluster's community partner, healthcare providers, pharmacies, faith-based organizations, and schools.
• Complete required data collection instruments and submit them on schedule to the Program Coordinator/Data Lead.
• Participate in Local Community Prevention Collaborative and community outreach and distribution events.
