Job summary

Aletheia House is seeking a Community Health Worker to serve clusters in Marion, Lamar, and Fayette Counties, Alabama. You will distribute naloxone and other medications, provide overdose-recognition training, and connect individuals to treatment and support services.

The role emphasizes local engagement, field-based work, data reporting, and collaboration with partner organizations to expand overdose prevention efforts across communities, while requiring travel within the assigned counties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, or a related field.
• Local residency or strong ties to Marion, Lamar, and Fayette Counties.
• CHW certification or equivalent lived or professional experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the counties.
• Ability to complete onboarding training for overdose-recognition and naloxone.

Responsibilities

• Distribute FDA-approved overdose reversal medications to bystanders and facilities.
• Deliver overdose-recognition and response training to diverse community groups.
• Train local Training-of-Trainers cohorts to extend curriculum.
• Support referral and linkage follow-up with a coordinating program.
• Maintain relationships with healthcare providers, schools, and community partners.
• Submit required data collection instruments on schedule.
