Job summary

Mach-Resource is seeking a Field Communications / SCADA Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot field communications supporting oil and gas operations across remote sites. You will work with Operations, IT, and SCADA teams to diagnose problems from RF equipment to Ethernet networks and respond to outages while following safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain RF communication equipment, antennas, coax, and point-to-point systems.
• Diagnose problems using SCADA data, RF tools, and network monitoring software.
• Troubleshoot TCP/IP, Ethernet networks, VLANs, and basic connectivity.
• Maintain DC power systems including batteries, solar, controllers, and power supplies.
• Document configurations, network information, site data, and repairs.
• Respond to outages and participate in on-call rotation.
• Follow safety policies and regulatory requirements.

This position works closely with Operations, IT, and SCADA personnel to maintain reliable communications between remote field locations and centralized monitoring systems.The successful candidate should be safety-conscious, technically capable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in remote field locations.Responsibilities• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain RF communication equipment, including licensed and unlicensed radios, antennas, coaxial cable, point-to-point, and point-to-multipoint systems.• Diagnose problems using SCADA data, network monitoring systems, radio management software, electrical test equipment, and RF diagnostic tools.• Troubleshoot TCP/IP and Ethernet networks, including IP addressing, VLANs, and basic network connectivity.• Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC power systems supporting communications equipment, including batteries, solar systems, charge controllers, and power supplies.• Perform RF troubleshooting including signal strength, signal-to-noise ratio, interference, antenna alignment, and coaxial cable issues.• Maintain accurate documentation of equipment configurations, network information, site information, maintenance activities, and repairs.• Respond to communication and SCADA outages and participate in an on-call rotation as required.• Perform all work in accordance with company safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.Requirements• High school diploma or GED equivalent.• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.• Working knowledge of RF communications, industrial networking, electronics, SCADA, telemetry, or similar systems. Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, Ethernet, IP addressing, and network troubleshooting.• Ability to use electrical and electronic test equipment and understand wiring diagrams, network diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.• Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and clearly communicate technical issues.• Ability to interact professionally with Operations personnel, contractors, landowners, and other stakeholders.Physical Requirements• Able to work independently at remote oil and gas facilities and communication sites.• Able to safely drive paved, gravel, and unimproved field roads in varying weather conditions.• Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.• Able to work outdoors in hot, cold, windy, dusty, and other adverse weather conditions.Preferred Qualifications• Technical education or certifications in electronics, telecommunications, networking, instrumentation, or a related field.• Experience with industrial radio systems, SCADA systems, RTUs, Ethernet networking, and solar/DC power systems.• Familiarity with oil and gas production operations and local field geography.• FCC, networking, electronics, or manufacturer-specific technical certifications are a plus.
