Job summary

GAS Energy Staffing LLC is seeking a Senior Communications Technician in Columbus, IN to provide regional telecommunications field support. This role covers installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave and related systems, coordinating with contractors and field operations, and serving as a liaison with IT.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electronics or 7 years of field experience
• 7+ years of experience installing and/or maintaining telecommunications systems
• Experience with wireless data systems, SCADA, and LAN cabling systems

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications and communications systems, including voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave, badge access, video surveillance, and satellite equipment
• Provide preventative maintenance, fault isolation, and troubleshooting support for communications systems
• Assist the projects group with the implementation of project-related systems
• Direct local contractors engaged in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems
• Provide support and first-level training to field operations personnel
• Act as the first-level liaison between field operations and the IT organization
• Drive field standards and provide feedback to the communications engineering team
• Provide 24/7 on-call support

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Senior Communications Technician to provide regional telecommunications field support, including the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave, and other communications systems. Job Description

Skills Required

• 7+ years of experience installing and/or maintaining telecommunications systems
• Experience with wireless data systems, SCADA, and LAN cabling systems
• Experience with phone system and microwave communications system installation and maintenance is a plus
• Must have Telephony and Network Experience
• Ability to use test equipment and software to support telecommunications systems in the field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently and prioritize assigned activities
• Ability to interact with internal and external teams/clients to solve problems

Education/Training/Certifications

• Associate's degree in Electronics or 7 years of equivalent experience in the field of Electronics

Additional Requirements

• Job Site: Onsite
• FCC license preferred
• Network certification such as CCNA is a plus
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment
• Ability to safely and effectively operate a motor vehicle
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%
• 24/7 on-call support
• PPE and FRCs are required
• Tools and test equipment will be provided
