Job summary

Sécheron SA is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our USA service organization. This field-based role requires hands-on expertise with DC switchgear, power conversion systems, and traction power solutions for the rail industry.

You will travel extensively to customer sites across the United States for preventive, corrective maintenance and commissioning activities. Ideal candidates have a commissioning background in electrical equipment, familiarity with DC power systems up to 3 kV, and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant technical experience.
Commissioning background in installation, testing and maintenance of electrical equipment.
Experience in power distribution or switchgear manufacturing preferred (3+ years).
Familiarity with DC power systems up to 3 kV.
Safety training including OSHA, first aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

Execute preventive and corrective maintenance at customer facilities.
Implement retrofits and modernization projects with internal teams and customers.
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning; train customers when needed.
Audit existing equipment and prepare technical intervention reports.
Support Sales Engineers on substation surveys and repair quotations.
Promote service opportunities during customer visits (spare parts, on-site services).
Provide expert support on DC products (switchgear, rectifiers, converters).
