Job summary

FST Technical Services is seeking a Commissioning Project Engineer to drive field verification, testing, and system validation across multiple sites. You will lead commissioning activities, review designs, and coordinate with construction teams to ensure projects meet performance goals.

The role blends hands-on fieldwork with project delivery, requiring strong problem‑solving, communication, and travel between project sites. A relevant engineering degree and 5+ years' experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in HVACR, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years in construction, maintenance, or controls (or 1+ year in commissioning).
• Experience with integrated building systems (HVAC, BAS, electrical, fire alarm, etc.).
• Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute commissioning activities including installation verification, functional testing, and system validation.
• Travel regularly to multiple project sites to work on diverse systems and projects.
• Produce clear field reports, test documentation, and commissioning records.
• Review design drawings, specifications, and submittals for alignment with requirements.
• Participate in and lead commissioning meetings, driving progress and accountability.
• Collaborate with construction teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
