Job summary

FST Technical Services in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Commissioning Project Engineer to lead the delivery of commissioning services for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a wide range of projects. You will coordinate field installation validation, write reports, review submittals, and support the construction team while traveling to different sites within the region.

The role requires strong problem-solving, clear communication, and the ability to interpret contract documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in HVACR, mechanical or electrical engineering, construction management or related field.
• 7+ years in maintenance/construction/engineering controls or 3+ years in commissioning (Cx).
• 5+ years experience interconnecting building equipment (pumps, fans, motors, AHU, chillers, boilers, VAV, building automation, electrical, fire alarm, wastewater).
• Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, bid process, and related docs.
• Ability to solve problems independently and with a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication; public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and execution of commissioning tasks for MEP systems.
• Manage office tasks, time/expense management, reports and meeting notes.
• Perform field testing, on-site and factory witness testing, submittal reviews, and design documentation evaluation.
• Lead meetings, manage budgets, and assist construction team with issue resolution.
• Mentor staff, coordinate scheduling, and support revenue targets and QA goals.
