Job summary

Smart Care is seeking a Commercial Kitchen Service Technician for NW Indiana to service and repair commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware‑washing, and related equipment. You will read diagrams, troubleshoot issues, and install parts, while maintaining safety and on-site efficiency.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of technical experience; a valid driver’s license and willingness for on‑call rotations and occasional overnight travel are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of technical experience with refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Willingness and ability to be involved with the emergency on‑call rotation that includes nights and weekends.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment including cooking, refrigeration, ware‑washing and specialty equipment.
• Read diagrams and schematics to aid service.
• Install ordered parts in a timely and professional manner.
• Communicate with manufacturers as needed to aid diagnostics and parts identification.
• Promote and upsell other Smart Care services to customers when appropriate.
• Produce accurate administrative documents such as work orders and time reporting.
