Job summary

Bigham Cable Construction, Inc. is seeking a Coax Splicer for outdoor field work in Asheville. You will splice coaxial networks, perform upgrades both aerial and underground, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

This hands-on role requires physical capability, a valid driver's license, DOT medical card, and the ability to work in all weather. Weekly pay and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver’s license (no provisional) with clean driving record
• Must pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card
• Six months coax splicing experience or one year in telecom
• Pole climber certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to aerial
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work via daily production reports and updated maps/material usage records
