Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II, Property to serve in the Northern VA region with a work-from-home setup and regular travel to claim locations. The role requires assessing and resolving moderate to severe property claims, often onsite or virtually, and collaborating with SIU and Subrogation to identify fraud and recovery opportunities.

You will handle claims from start to finish, determine coverages, manage reserves, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of local repair procedures

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid experience writing own estimates and handling claims start to finish.
• License/Certification/Designation: State licensing where required; Xactimate certifications within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively, with little to no direction and oversight.
• Determines proper policy coverages and applies appropriate claims practices to resolve cases.
• Opens, closes and adjusts reserves according to company practices to ensure reserve adequacy.
• Maintains knowledge of insurance guidelines and policy changes; attends seminars and training.
• Submits severe incident reports and collaborates with SIU and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers and partners.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
