Job summary

Citrus County Government is seeking an Engineering Technician III for field inspections of roads, stormwater drainage, and potable water and sanitary systems to ensure compliance with plans and regulations. The role requires travel around Citrus County and daily construction reports.

You will review plans, document non-compliance, conduct site investigations, input data into county asset systems, and perform engineering calculations.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent with 3 years in Civil Engineering field, road construction.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management tasks.
• Valid Florida Driver License or able to obtain within 30 days of residency.

Responsibilities

• Inspect major and minor County construction projects for conformity with plans and specs.
• Maintain daily construction reports and prepare inspection reports.
• Review plans and recommend changes for non-compliance and cost savings.
• Input data into county asset systems and perform engineering calculations.
• Conduct field investigations and collect data on traffic, assets, and materials.
• Attend staff meetings and assist with remaining duties as needed.
