Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Construction Inspection Interns to join our team in Upstate New York for Summer 2027. Candidates must be located near Buffalo, Rochester, Albany, or Newburgh, NY for field visits.

You''ll support transportation, bridge, utility, and municipal construction projects, collaborating with clients, contractors, and agencies to uphold safety and quality standards. This internship offers hands-on field experience, mentorship, and opportunities to grow

Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid problem-solving skills.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather.
Basic computer knowledge/skills.
Ability to read, write, and understand English for job communications.
Must have reliable transportation to office and job sites.
Valid driver''s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

Oversee, document, and verify the work and daily activities of road and bridge construction crews to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans.
Monitor and document work zone and traffic control operations.
Take measurements, calculate quantities, and perform engineering related computations.
Operate relevant material testing equipment.
Provide technical assistance and help resolve challenges related to the construction operations.
Attend pre-construction meetings and progress meetings.
Assist with in-service bridge inspections and bridge project scoping.
