Job summary

The internship runs from June 1, 2027 through early August 2027, focusing on water management, field documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in a 4-year Civil Engineering program with a focus in Environment or Water Resources.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills with attention to detail in permit and file management tasks.
• Willingness to work in outdoor field conditions and adapt to varying site environments.
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats with team members and field staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with water management Best Management Practices (BMPs) and large earth moving and fill pile design, contract and permit management and construction project management.
• Support engineers with field data collection, surveying, and site evaluations.
• Assist with permit tracking, documentation organization, and regulatory correspondence to support active and pending permit applications.
• Maintain and organize project files, inspection reports, and compliance records in both digital and physical formats.
• Participate in routine environmental control inspections, including erosion and sediment control (ESC) assessments, and assist with documentation of field findings and corrective actions.
• Communicate inspection observations clearly through written field notes and summary reports.
• Complete an end-of-summer presentation summarizing projects, site experiences and key learnings.
