Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Richmond, VA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support design and development of traffic, water, storm and sanitary sewer studies, and roadway and site plans. You will assist with CAD design, field inspections, and construction administration tasks under supervision.

This internship emphasizes learning through real project exposure, teamwork across disciplines, and opportunity for growth within the company as you build foundational civil engineering

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Enrolled in college courses or continuing education.
Civil engineering focus preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Must hold a valid state drivers license and pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

Assist with site grading, erosion and sediment control design, CAD design and drafting, storm water management design, water treatment, traffic analysis and/or utility design.
Assist with field inspections.
Observe and participate in construction administration (RFI/Submittal) responsibilities.
