Job summary

A leading engineering firm located in Chicago is seeking an experienced civil engineer to ensure that contractor work aligns with specified plans and requirements. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and at least three years of relevant experience in consulting or field engineering. Communication and analytical skills are essential. Competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $155,000 per year alongside a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
• Experience managing field engineering tasks related to transportation and civil site design.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractor work is built to plans and specifications.
• Identify problems and inform project engineer.
• Field measurements & documentation of pay quantities.
• Generate daily activity reports on work progress.
• Assist with construction contract administration matters.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and change order requests.
