Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a civil engineering construction intern to support a broad range of infrastructure projects from our Novi, MI area offices. The role focuses on daily field inspection and documentation of project activities, giving hands-on experience in bringing civil design projects to life.

The internship is field-based with travel to sites. You will work under supervision to gain practical skills in measurements, reporting, and coordination with project teams.

Qualifikationen

• Pursuing BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related engineering curriculum required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good driving record and valid driver's license.

Aufgaben

• Review and assure the project supervisor of the adequacy of the budget and schedule.
• Perform construction observation of construction activities and follow project procedures.
• Maintain a field book in accordance with project procedures.
• Perform measurements of construction work and quantity calculations of pay items.
• Prepare the Inspector's Daily Reports and other project documentation.
• Report to the project supervisor on progress, technical issues, and deficiencies.
• Review plans, specifications, and submittals related to assigned work.
• Provide design or other professional assistance to project managers.
• Maintain company-owned vehicles or equipment assigned for use on the project.
