Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking an experienced Circuit Breaker Technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair low, medium, and high voltage switchgear. Travel to sites for onsite testing is expected; candidates should be capable of teardown, rebuild, and testing of breakers, contactors, and related equipment.

Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED with electro-mechanical training preferred, plus experience with 480V–15kV breakers and reading schematics.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED; prefer electro-mechanical training from trade school, apprenticeship or armed services.
• Experience rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting circuit breakers.
• 480V to 15KV circuit breaker experience desired.
• Pearl breaker certification desirable.
• Reading and interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on low & medium voltage circuit breakers (GE, Westinghouse, Powell, ABB, ITE, and others).
• Troubleshoot, rebuild, retrofit, test, and repair switchgear, including teardown/assembly of breakers and related equipment.
• Occasionally travel overnight to job sites for onsite breaker testing and repair.
• Operate and test high-, medium-, and low-voltage switchgear with various test equipment.
