Job summary

Marketplace Chaplains seeks part-time chaplains to serve employees and their families across client sites in the Richmond area. The role centers on providing confidential pastoral support, visits to worksites (usually weekly), and spiritual care aligned with Christian ministry.

Responsibilities include offering counseling for personal issues, supporting funerals or grief, and coordinating resources as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in an interfaith setting and with diverse groups.
• Excellent listening, communication and public speaking skills.
• Strong Christian faith and alignment with ministry values.
• Diplomacy and exceptional customer service in stressful situations.
• Clear verbal and written communication with leadership and families.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving in sensitive contexts.
• Tech proficiency with Google Suite / MS Office and online tools.
• Active driver's license and state minimum auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Serves as messenger of faith and mission to employees and families.
• Makes regular visits to client worksites (usually weekly) to build trust.
• Provides confidential pastoral discussions and referrals as needed.
• Assists in planning or attending funerals and grief support when required.
• Responds to life issues with compassion and professional discretion.
