Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a CEI Inspector in Georgia to perform construction engineering and inspection for roadway and bridge projects.

You will verify materials, monitor workmanship, maintain project records, and support project engineers throughout construction. The role requires experience with transportation inspection, ability to read plans and specs, and GDOT certs or the potential to obtain them.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18–36 months of transportation/inspection experience or equivalent.
• Experience inspecting roadways, bridges, or heavy civil projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contracts.
• Knowledge of highway materials, methods, equipment, and inspection procedures.
• Passing GDOT CI Training Group 1 requirements.
• Passing GDOT CI Training Group 2 requirements.
• GDOT WECS certification.
• GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification.
• GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control).
• Math skills incl. geometry and trigonometry.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate legally in GA.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities.
• Inspect asphalt and concrete materials, pavement placement, and compaction.
• Inspect structural components including foundations, piling, reinforcing steel, and concrete placement.
• Monitor traffic control devices and erosion/sediment measures.
• Conduct field measurements and calculate pay quantities; maintain records.
• Perform calculations related to inspection activities.
• Review plans, specs, and contract provisions; interpret procedures.
• Prepare reports and document project activities and findings.
• Supervise or direct other inspectors as assigned.
• Participate in project meetings, plan reviews, and closeout activities.
• Assist with construction management on resurfacing, safety improvements, and bridge rehab.
• Communicate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Operate a vehicle and perform inspections across the project area.
