Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver (CSX) in the Binghamton area to operate specialized rail inspection vehicles across Eastern or Western US, supporting testing operations and ensuring DOT compliance.

This field‑based role requires extensive travel and the ability to work in varied weather conditions. Applicants must hold a valid CDL Class A or B with air brake, pass DOT physical and background checks, and demonstrate strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively (3–4 months at a time) within assigned regions.
• Operate hi-rail trucks and rail‑bound detector cars in field conditions.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and maintain DOT compliance.
• Support testing operations and data collection in the field.
• Communicate safety concerns and coordinate with crew and railroad personnel.
