Job summary

Alarm Detection Systems, INC is seeking an experienced Camera and Access Technician to install, service, and maintain CCTV surveillance, access control, intercom, and related electronic security systems at customer locations. You will troubleshoot, program IP cameras, test VMS, and educate customers on operation.

This field-based role requires travel to various environments; you will work with a range of security technologies and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years electronic troubleshooting experience.
• Minimum of 2 years computer networking experience.
• Electronics or computer training preferred.
• Understanding of fundamental electronics principles.
• Networking, routing, switching, and LAN topologies.
• Experience configuring IP cameras and access control software.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using volt/amp/ohm meters and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CCTV surveillance, access control, intercom, and related systems.
• Configure, program, and test IP cameras, access control panels, VMS, and related components.
• Diagnose equipment and system issues using specs and diagnostic tools.
• Perform functional testing and system commissioning to verify operation.
• Troubleshoot networking and connectivity for security systems.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specs.
• Educate customers on operation and basic maintenance of their security systems.
• Document service activities and changes accurately.
• Coordinate with customers, dispatch, project managers, and ADS departments.
• Maintain tools, vehicle, and inventory safely.
• Follow safety procedures and applicable codes.
• Participate in on-call night rotation.
