Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Field (Cathodic Protection) Technician to join our growing team and support outdoor projects across the U.S. The role requires 75% travel and offers overtime, mileage, per diem, and a competitive hourly wage.

As an entry-to-mid level position, you will learn from in-house experts and develop field proficiency in cathodic protection systems, with potential for industry certifications within six months of onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degrees preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to travel extensively for outdoor work.
• Capability to operate a company vehicle, ATV-UTV, and use general hand/power tools.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Commitment to working safely and producing high quality, ethical service.
• Good organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Highly motivated and thrives in a dynamic, team-based environment.
• Desire to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and management locally and across offices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
• Desire to learn basic cathodic protection.
• Interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and build positive working relationships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn CFR 49 Part 192 & 195 and AMPP standards and test methods.

Responsibilities

• Work safely by adhering to LSC and client guidelines and procedures
• Prepare for planned cathodic protection projects
• Complete and maintain operator qualifications (OQs)
• Operate and use testing equipment
• Perform troubleshooting on cathodic protection systems
• Gather data, and prepare records and reports in a timely manner
• Install, maintain and repair components of a cathodic protection system
• Ensure your work is utilized with respect to company goals
• Work in compliance with all technical procedures and guidelines
