Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a Field Buyer to comprehensively manage on-site purchasing, receiving, and inventory control in alignment with company policies. The role emphasizes timely POIR completion, competitive quoting, and strong vendor coordination for field operations.

The position requires at least two years of construction experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office; you will interact with project managers and site teams to ensure materials arrive and are stored per specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of construction experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the field requisition process.
• Obtain competitive quotes for all material requisitions and purchases at the field level.
• Manage field receiving and inventory control processes.
• Ensure POIRs are completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure requisitions and purchases comply with company policies.
• Set up and manage local vendor accounts including required documentation (W9, confidentiality agreements).
• Coordinate with site management for proper receiving/staging areas for material deliveries.
• Ensure materials stored properly per vendor requirements.
• Reconcile Concur credit card statements weekly with supporting emails or requisition numbers.
• Coordinate with Laydown Yard Foreman and Construction Managers to maintain inventory levels.
• Procure materials for warehouse/site inventory.
• Communicate with MasTec Corporate Office and onsite management as main contact for project progress.
