Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a procurement professional to support Alaska operations from Kenai. You will manage purchasing, vendor relations, and inventory planning to meet production and customer needs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of purchasing experience, with strong negotiation and MS Office skills. You will collaborate with suppliers, field operations, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• One (1) year purchasing experience
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Purchases specifically assigned products by contacting vendors and suppliers to obtain information concerning product, price, availability, and delivery time.
• Assists in the evaluation of goods and services by analyzing competitor pricing strategies, researching trends and tracking orders.
• Ensures all products are received in condition consistent with original request or bid and resolves issues concerning materials and/or services at the department and vendor level.
• Coordinates returns and/or replacement of products and generates appropriate paperwork for inventory tracking and accounting purposes.
• Addresses customer service concerns from suppliers, field operations, and cross-functional departments
• Assists operations with sourcing specialty items, freight/carrier information, order status, and timely processing of orders.
• Maintains department files including those pertaining to vendors, bids, quotes, and other correspondence.
• Other duties as assigned.
