Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Building Inspector I to perform on-site inspections, verify code compliance, and ensure safe construction practices.

You will work with contractors, engineers, and project managers to document findings and provide guidance for regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes hands-on inspection of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, review of plans and permits, and ongoing safety training to support long-term career growth in construction inspection and regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; active Building Inspector License is required.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, client standards), use PPE.
• Perform Structural Building Inspection duties (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) as licensed.
• Document findings with observations, diagrams, photos, and compliance recommendations.
• Identify code violations and recommend corrective action to contractors and project managers.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions.
• Review plans, blueprints, permits, and reports to verify compliance with designs.
• Maintain clear communication with field supervisors and management.
• Assist in permit reviews and project documentation.
• Stay updated on building codes and safety practices; participate in training.
• Travel to sites as required; operate and maintain company vehicle.
• Be available for flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.
