Job summary

Schneider Electric in Long Island, NY is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join our Building Automation team, supporting projects across the region. This role leads field installation, commissioning, and documentation while coordinating with customers, contractors, and project teams.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in construction or field engineering with BAS/BMS experience and the ability to travel to project sites. Join a global leader focused on smart, sustainable buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in construction/building automation or field engineering.
• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to travel throughout Long Island and work from project sites.
• Experience with BAS/BMS and HVAC controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead field engineering activities on BAS/BMS projects from mobilization through closeout.
• Coordinate installation activities, scheduling, and execution at active sites.
• Participate in system startup, commissioning, and pre-functional checkout.
• Review project specifications, drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical plans.
• Serve as primary field liaison between project managers, engineers, subcontractors, customers.
• Attend meetings, track action items, drive timely issue resolution.
• Maintain project documentation, redlines, change orders, and field reports.
• Review field sketches and provide feedback on modifications and change requests.
• Monitor progress ensuring quality, safety, and execution standards.
• Support cybersecurity best practices on customer systems.
