Astound is seeking a Broadband Network Technician I to maintain and repair underground coax and fiber infrastructure. The role involves outdoor field work, ladders, and hand tools to restore service and support network reliability.

The technician will detect outages, perform emergency restoration, and document work orders and daily logs. A high school diploma and 2+ years telecom field experience are required, with on-call responsibilities and a drive to excel in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years hands-on telecom field work experience.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret maps; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages for data, video, and telephone.
• Perform emergency restoration of coax, fiber, and underground cable.
• Maintain documentation including work orders and daily logs.
• Install, replace, and repair coaxial and fiber optic cabling (aerial and buried).
• Operate ladders and field tools such as test meters and fusion splicers.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Support network reliability and preventative maintenance.
• Read maps and interpret Outside Plant layouts.
