Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Broadband Specialist I (Field Technician) to perform new installations of cable TV and broadband services. You will drive a company van, install and modify service, handle pay/disconnect requests, and respond to customer installation questions in homes or businesses.

Role emphasizes safety, proper use of testing equipment, and providing a positive customer experience. A valid driver’s license is required and flexibility for hours is expected.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• General level of mechanical and consumer devices knowledge.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Make installation drops, exterior and interior, from tap to terminals.
• Perform new connects, disconnects, outlets, upgrades/downgrades.
• Analyze picture quality after installation and adjust as needed.
• Work with hand tools and basic connectors.
• Read field signal levels and use test equipment.
• Climb poles or ladders as required for installs.
• Lift up to 100 lbs and work in tight spaces.
• Follow FCC rules and company policies in customer interactions.
• Drive company vehicle and maintain its condition.
• Provide basic product information and promote promotions when appropriate.
