Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Billing Specialist to ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing under service contracts. You will handle routine and non-routine billing tasks, prepare adjustments, and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and customers.

Ideal candidates have related billing experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to follow SOPs with attention to detail. The role offers opportunities to support diverse billing needs across multiple accounts.

Qualifications

• Direct billing experience in a service-based industry.
• Intermediate MS Excel skills and ability to follow SOPs accurately.
• Ability to interact professionally with division managers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly billing adjustments, obtain required approvals, and enter adjustments into the billing system.
• Research and resolve routine and non-routine billing questions and discrepancies.
• Determine appropriate adjustment codes to process transactions.
• Review invoices for completeness and accuracy.
• Follow up with customers or division staff to resolve discrepancies.
• May prepare manual billings for non-routine, complex arrangements.
• May gather and summarize supplemental billing information to accommodate requirements.
• Post case receipts to customer accounts based on lock box reports and cash listings.
• Post payments into the billing system to clear open obligations; prepare remittance advices.
• May accept credit card payments by phone and process recurring payments.
• May set up customers in billing system(s).
• Serve as a resource and provide training to less experienced staff.
