Job summary

Raymond Corp is seeking a Battery Service Technician to maintain, service, and support batteries and related equipment at customer sites. You will travel to sites, diagnose and repair equipment, and perform preventive maintenance to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include completing paperwork, managing parts and tools, and upholding safety policies while delivering professional customer service. A valid driving record and willingness to work overtime or weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of industrial electricity

• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and manuals
• Must maintain acceptable driving record and be willing to work overtime or weekends

Responsibilities

• Pick-up and deliver batteries and chargers, install new batteries, chargers and related equipment
• Travel to customer site, diagnose, trouble-shoot and repair customer's battery equipment following guidelines
• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment according to schedule and cost guidelines
• Complete all required paperwork and time records accurately
• Account for parts, materials, tools and consumables used as required
• Drive and work safely according to policies
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers
• Keep the van clean and fully stocked at all times
• Maintain the van's interior equipment and manuals
• Attend meetings, training classes and other company activities
• Maintain uniforms to look neat and professional
• Report accidents, safety violations and unsafe conditions immediately
• Keep a set of personal tools as required by supervisor
• Follow all company policies including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, warranty, safety and environmental
• Work with all departments to ensure quality of customer service

Position Title: BATTERY SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Reports to: Service Manager

Position Summary:

Maintain, service and support specific batteries and equipment, at the customer location in a timely and cost-effective manner so that customer requirements are met.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Pick-up and deliver batteries and chargers, install new batteries, chargers and related equipment.
2. Travel to customer site, diagnose, trouble‑shoot and repair customer's battery equipment in accordance with established guidelines and procedures, maintaining positive customer relations.
3. Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment according to schedule, established procedures and cost guidelines at customer's facility.
4. Complete all required paperwork and time records accurately and completely follow MobileTech Procedures as directed by management.
5. Account for all parts, materials, tools and consumables used as required.
6. Drive and work safely in accordance with company and/or customer safety policies procedures.
7. Develop and maintain positive, effective working relationship with customers and co‑workers.
8. Keep van clean, serviceable and in fully‑stocked condition at all times.
9. Maintain the van's interior equipment, storage devices, service manuals and related documents.
10. Attend meeting, training classes and other company activities as required.
11. Maintain uniforms in order to look neat and professional at all times.
12. Report all accidents, injuries, safety violations and unsafe working conditions immediately.
13. Keep an adequate set of personal tools as required by supervisor at all times.
14. Various additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
15. Follow all company policies and procedures; such as, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, warranty, safety, and environmental

Special Skills Needed:

Good mechanical aptitude and ability, basic knowledge of industrial electricity and good customer relations skills. Self-starter and creative problem solver. Ability to read schematics, diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's specifications and follow instructions. Must maintain acceptable driving record. Must be willing to work overtime or weekends. May be on 24/7 call.
