Job summary

DRH Health is seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to assist individuals navigating recovery using lived experience with substance use. You will provide mentorship, emotional support, and practical guidance to empower clients and connect them with essential community resources including mental health and SUD treatment, prenatal and postnatal care.

Qualifications

• Communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Demonstrated experience living with a substance use disorder.
• Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet tools (Word/Excel/Google Docs).
• Able to navigate electronic health record tools and email communications.
• Advanced fingerprint background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community outreach and education about substance use issues through events and presentations.
• Provide individual outreach to those at risk and to pregnant/postpartum women with SUD.
• Connect families to food, housing, utilities, and other emergency resources.
• Attend meetings with women and families needing support; facilitate warm handoffs to services.
• Maintain ongoing support for pregnant individuals on the recovery pathway.
• Assist with Family Care Plans and answer related questions.
• Ensure interactions are free from discrimination and maintain dignity for all clients.
• Participate in trainings and professional development; uphold DRH Health values.
