Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Educator to support allied health care professionals with product and disease education across approved therapies.

This field-based role requires roughly 50% travel and will focus on patient management education, dosing, administration, and adverse event mitigation. The ONE will partner with oncology teams to deliver education, develop accounts required educational plans, and share clinical insights through presentations and in-services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, NP, PA or PharmD required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Current active HCP license
• 7+ years clinical oncology/hematology experience; recent hematology experience preferred
• Experience in academic and/or community oncology practice with Hematology/Oncology patients
• Passion for patients is essential
• Excellent communication, objective setting, influencing, business acumen, analytical and strong presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and embrace learning
• Experience interpreting clinical and pharmacoeconomic data
• Recognizes evolving oncology market trends and effects on provider/patient
• Works well in cross-functional teams
• Strong organizational skills and time management
• Travel 50% and valid driver’s license/ability to drive company vehicle

Responsibilities

• Educate allied health care clinicians on identification and role of approved therapies.
• Develop customized educational plans from account insights and clinical data.
• Educate on appropriate patient identification and management of hematologic and solid tumors.
• Explain preparation, administration, adverse event mitigation and monitoring.
• Educate patient care teams on initiation and protocol-based management.
• Interpret and communicate clinical education topics to diverse audiences with approved materials.
• Provide disease state education including diagnosis and management.
• Deliver education through 1:1 presentations, in-services, round-tables and podiums.
• Document interactions and manage allocated resources.
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, medical, etc.) as needed.
• Possibly educate patients in advocacy settings with approved materials.
