Job summary

BestCare Treatment Services, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Crisis Counselor to respond to crisis calls, assess needs, and coordinate with other agencies to obtain services for clients and families.

The role guides a designated Peer team, adheres to BestCare policies, and operates in dynamic settings across county-based responses, including after hours.

Qualified candidates have a master's in behavioral health, state license or imminent certification, valid Oregon driver's license, and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in accepted behavioral health field.
• QMHP-C or LPC/LCSW required, or registration for QMHP-R or PCA/CSWA within 1 week of hire and ability/commitment to obtain within 6 months.
• Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver License or ability to obtain one upon hire and be insurable under the organization's auto liability coverage policy (minimum 21 years of age and with no Type A violations in the past 3 years, or three (3) or more Type B violations).
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or obtain within 3 months).

Responsibilities

• Provides crisis and risk assessment and intervention services in support of BestCare's mobile crisis response, including after hours.
• Provides immediate mobile response to individuals experiencing mental health crises within the County. Calls may come from hospitals, jail, police, or community partners.
• Gathers information to identify and assess risk factors for harm to self or others and makes safety recommendations.
• Assesses for personal safety and requests law enforcement support as appropriate.
• Provides direction to the Peer team member in completing comprehensive safety plans for each client.
• Documents and maintains electronic health records (EHR) and other records to comply with regulations and policies.

Education

Master's Degree in accepted behavioral health field
