Job summary

American Crane & Equipment Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician in the Gadsden, AL region. This role travels to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain electric overhead cranes and hoists, often handling 480 VAC / 3-phase systems with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will work independently, comply with safety standards, and support customers with strong communication and technical competence in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or trade certifications preferred.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience servicing electric overhead cranes and hoists.
• Strong field service experience in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Service electric overhead cranes and hoists (mechanical and electrical systems).
• Troubleshoot and repair 480 VAC / 3-phase electrical systems.
• Perform work independently while adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
