Job summary

HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION, Texas, is seeking a Conservatorship Worker I–IV responsible for managing CPS conservatorship cases, coordinating services, and collaborating with families to achieve safe, permanent outcomes for children. Position requires travel up to 85% and potential for mobile work in field settings.

New hires may start at different levels based on education and experience; Master’s level candidates may qualify for higher steps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social work, psychology, or related field.
• Experience in Child Protective Services or protective services is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 85% and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Receives cases after children are removed and placed in CPS conservatorship.
• Identify needs and refer services to achieve positive permanency.
• Work with families to plan for permanency and engage kinship resources.
• Prepare and participate in court hearings and maintain case records.
• Visit children monthly to assess safety and progress and assist reunification or permanency.
